The Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) explosive batsman Tim David played a brilliant knock for his team in the 34th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 on Friday, April 18.

Tim David hits his first half-century in IPL
Royal Challengers Bengaluru were invited to bat first in a shortened match, and they had a horrible outing. RCB kept losing wickets at regular intervals and finished their innings with a score of 95/9.
However, the score of the Royal Challengers Bengaluru would have been even lower had Tim David and Rajat Patidar not made decent contributions.
David smashed an unbeaten 50 runs off 26 balls, with 5 fours and 3 sixes, while Rajat Patidar scored 23 runs off 18, with one four and one six.
At a point in time, RCB were reduced to 63/9, and it was Tim David who ensured that they put up a respectable score on the board by smashing his maiden fifty in the IPL.
He, in particular, went berserk against Harpreet Brar in the final over of the innings. After playing three dot balls, he dispatched the spinner for three consecutive sixes over long-off, deep square leg, and deep point. He was then walking off the field, before being recalled as the last ball of the over turned out to be a no-ball.
Meanwhile, Tim David went for a wild hoick on the final delivery of the over as well, but he wasn't able to make the most of it. However, he took a double off the delivery, and it helped him complete a fifty.

How did RCB perform in their previous IPL 2025 match?
Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) put on a dominant show in their previous IPL 2025 match and defeated Rajasthan Royals by nine wickets at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur on April 13.
Opting to bowl first, RCB restricted Rajasthan Royals to a total of 173/4 despite a fine 75-run knock from Yashasvi Jaiswal and decent innings from Dhruv Jurel and Riyan Parag.
Out of the six bowlers used by Rajat Patidar, four of them - Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Yash Dayal, Josh Hazlewood, and Krunal Pandya - bagged one wicket each in the innings.
Chasing 174, RCB openers Phil Salt and Virat Kohli looked aggressive from the get-go. Phil Salt took the attack to the Rajasthan Royals bowling unit and slammed a 33-ball 65. He was well-supported by Virat Kohli, who remained unbeaten on 62 off 45, bringing up his 100th T20 fifty in the process. Also, Devdutt Padikkal chipped in with a fluent 40* off 28 as RCB completed the run-chase in 17.3 overs.
Notably, one of the main reasons behind the defeat of the Rajasthan Royals in the match was their sloppy fielding, as they dropped both Phil Salt and Virat Kohli early on in the innings.
