Trent Boult finally had his revenge for the two boundaries that Sanju Samson (42 off 27) hit off him in his 3rd over as he knocked over the Rajasthan Royals skipper with a searing yorker.
It all happened on the fourth ball of the 18th over when Trent Boult nailed a pinpoint yorker. Sanju Samson, who was rooted deep in his crease, failed to connect with it and eventually heard the death rattle of his stumps.
The wicket of Sanju Samson came at a crucial time for the Mumbai Indians as the stylish Rajasthan Royals skipper was looking in imperious form and his dismissal could well have made a difference of 15-20 runs in the end.
It was a brilliant inning by Samson, who looked in pristine touch from the moment he arrived at the crease.
Coming to bat following the dismissal of Jos Buttler, Sanju Samson announced himself by smashing three fours on the first six balls he faced against Rahul Chahar and Krunal Pandya.
Even as Yashasvi Jaiswal fell to Chahar, Sanju Samson continued to chip away at boundaries during the middle-overs.
But with Shivam Dube struggling to keep up with the scoring rate, one felt that Samson was under too much pressure to keep the scoreboard ticking.
And, it eventually led to his downfall. Shivam Dube smashed a six off Boult in the same over before he offered a caught & bowled chance to Jasprit Bumrah in the following over.
