Ahead of Team India's first game in the Super 8s of the ongoing ICC Men's T20 World Cup, captain Rohit Sharma and his predecessor Virat Kohli sweated it out in the nets.

India will begin their campaign in the Super 8s by taking on high-flying Afghanistan in Barbados on Thursday (June 20). All eyes will be on Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma after their unimpressive start in the competition. Kohli has been facing severe criticism for managing to score only 5 runs in 3 games so far.

The former India skipper started his campaign with a 1-run knock against Ireland before being dismissed for 4 and 0 against Pakistan and USA respectively. Rohit started his campaign with a fine fifty against Ireland but failed to get going against Pakistan and USA. The senior batters will be looking to do well with the bat against Afghanistan and give the team a good start.

Afghanistan have a quality spin attack and it looks like both Rohit and Kohli could bring out some uncharacteristic shots to deal with Rashid Khan & Co. The India openers were seen working on their sweep and reverse sweeps in the nets ahead of the much-awaited game against Afghanistan. Both the players hardly rely on such shots to score but could use them to score some quick runs in the upcoming games.

In a video posted by Star Sports, Rohit and Kohli were seen facing the likes of Kuldeep Yadav and Yuzvendra Chahal in the nets.

Meanwhile, Team India will be looking to continue their winning run in the tournament when they take on Afghanistan. India qualified for the Super 8s after an unbeaten run in the group stage. They started their campaign with an 8-wicket win over Ireland before beating Pakistan by 6 runs. It was followed by a 7-wicket win over USA.

India's last game against Canada was abandoned due to a wet outfield. Afghanistan, on the other hand, won three of their four games. After beating Uganda, New Zealand, and Papua New Guinea, they lost their last group game against West Indies and will be looking to bounce back.
