Former South African opener Herschelle Gibbs and veteran Indian all-rounder Yuvraj Singh are mostly known for hitting six-sixes in over in international cricket. Such an incident took place during the Andhra vs Railways CK Nayudu Trophy match being played in Kadapa. Andhra batsman Vamshhi Krrishna smashed six sixes in an over to Railways’ bowler Damandeep Singh.
Vamsshi Krrishna played an innings of 110 runs from 64 balls and smashed 9 fours and 10 sixes during his stay at the crease. Krrishna played a slog sweep towards the mid-wicket region to hit the first six in the over whereas he hit two back-to-back maximums over the long-on region on the second and the third ball. Krrishna went again over the mid-wicket region to smash two sixes in a row on the fourth and the fifth ball of the over. Krrishna ended up the things by smashing a pull shot off a short ball towards the leg side for a six.

The Col CK Nayudu Trophy match between Andhra and Railways ended up in a draw. While batting first in the match, Andhra were able to put up a score of 378 runs. While Vamshhi Krrishna played an innings of 110 runs, captain Vamsi Krishna played a knock of 51 runs from 74 balls. He smashed 6 fours and 1 sixes during his stay at the crease. S Venkata Rahul remained unbeaten on 66 runs from 153 balls.
While batting against Andhra, Railways put up a score of 865/9 in 231 overs. Ansh Yadav and Ravi Singh smashed double hundreds and played innings of 268 and 258 runs off 597 and 311 balls respectively. Ansh hit a total of 14 fours and 2 sixes during his stay at the crease, whereas, Ravi hit 17 fours and 13 sixes during his time at the pitch. Ravi Singh and Ansh Yadav also put up a stand of 420 runs from 658 balls for the 3rd wicket.
Anchit Yadav also smashed a ton and hit a century. Anchit played a knock of 133 runs from 219 balls with 13 fours and 2 sixes during his stay at the crease. At last, the match ended in a draw, and Railways were able to gain a first innings lead.
Yuvraj Singh is the only Indian cricketer to smash six sixes in an over. The incident took place during the T20 World Cup 2007 match between India and England. While batting first, India were able to put up a score of 218 runs, wherein while batting in the 19th over, Yuvraj smashed English bowler Stuart Broad for six sixes in an over. Yuvraj was also engaged in a verbal spat with English pacer Andrew Flintoff before the over.
West Indies batsman Kieron Pollard has also hit six sixes in an over against Sri Lanka during a T20I match in 2021.
South African opener Herschelle Gibbs was the first player in the history of international cricket to achieve the milestone. Gibbs smashes six sixes in an over during the 2007 ODI World Cup match against Netherlands.
Apart from international cricket, West Indies legend Gary Sobers achieved the milestone during a County match against Glamorgan in 1968.
