Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) batter Virat Kohli’s reaction to Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) skipper Rishabh Pant’s celebration after his brilliant century in the IPL 2025 match went viral. The star cricketer was seen at the boundary line when the LSG captain performed a somersault to celebrate his ton.
Pant had been struggling for almost the entire tournament but returned to form in the Super Giants' final match at the Ekana International Stadium on Tuesday, May 27. The left-handed batter smashed a 54-ball century. He reached the three-figure mark in the 18th over of the innings with a boundary.

Rishabh Pant commemorated his century with a dazzling somersault celebration that captivated the crowd at the Ekana Stadium. Virat Kohli was visibly entertained by Pant’s unique and athletic display.

The 27-year-old smashed his second IPL hundred. He scored an unbeaten 128* for Delhi Capitals against SunRisers Hyderabad in 2018. In his innings on Tuesday, he amassed an unbeaten 118 from 61 balls, including 11 boundaries and eight sixes. LSG scored 227 runs for 3 wickets in 20 overs.
Rishabh Pant Holds Impressive IPL Record Against Royal Challengers Bengaluru
Rishabh Pant boasts a good IPL record against Royal Challengers Bengaluru. Before the match, the southpaw had scored 421 runs in 12 innings at an average of 42.10 and a strike rate of 150.36. He has also notched four half-centuries against them, with a highest score of 85.
Notably, it was Pant’s first appearance against RCB since 2022, as he missed the entire 2023 season due to injury and was suspended for a slow over-rate violation during the 2024 game between Delhi Capitals (DC) and RCB.
In IPL 2025, Pant amassed 269 runs in 13 innings at a strike rate of 133.16. Lucknow Super Giants finished seventh on the points table, and a victory would have prevented RCB from securing a top-two finish in the tournament.
Virat Kohli Among Top Run-Scorers in IPL 2025
In RCB’s chase, Virat Kohli provided an aggressive start that set the stage for the middle order. He scored 54 runs off just 30 balls at a strike rate of 180 before getting out to Avesh Khan in the 12th over.
At the time of Kohli’s dismissal, RCB were 123 for 4. Jitesh Sharma and Mayank Agarwal then added an unbeaten partnership to guide the team to victory.
In IPL 2025, Virat Kohli has amassed 602 runs in 13 innings at an average of 60.20 and a strike rate of 147.27. This is his third consecutive season crossing 600 runs, and he is the fifth-highest run-scorer this season. RCB will next face Punjab Kings (PBKS) in Qualifier 1 on May 29 in Mullanpur.
