Bollywood actor Emraan Hashmi recently opened up about his favorite Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise and cricketing legends during a candid chat with Shubhankar Mishra. Hashmi said that he could never think about supporting Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) or any other IPL team, as he picked Mumbai Indians (MI) as his all-time favorite team.

In the IPL 2024, the Mumbai Indians (MI) were divided as Hardik Pandya had replaced Rohit Sharma as their new captain, which sparked massive controversy. Despite the backlash for removing Rohit as MI captain, the Bollywood actor emphasized his loyalty to the Mumbai-based franchise.

Emraan Hashmi picks Mumbai Indians as his favorite IPL team

Emraan said that he would always support MI, no matter who leads the franchise in the tournament. He told Shubhankar Mishra on his YouTube channel, “I think Mumbai Indians."

On being asked whether he supported the MI when Rohit Sharma was removed from the captaincy, the Bollywood actor said, “I mean, I would always support Mumbai Indians without question.” The Tiger 3 actor quickly replied by saying, “Mumbai Indians are Mumbai Indians fans,” when he was asked whether he was an RCB fan as well.

Meanwhile, Emraan Hashmi played a smart game when he was asked to pick between Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli, as the actor tactfully hailed Virat's prowess as a batter and the captaincy skills of Rohit, who recently won the T20 World Cup 2024. Emraan said, “I think Virat. In the captaincy, obviously, Rohit. Virat is also a superlative.”

The conversation then turned to the trio of Rohit, Kohli, and MS Dhoni. Emraan paused, acknowledging how it is tough to pick among the three legends of Indian cricket, but he eventually leaned towards the legendary wicketkeeper-batter Dhoni. He said that the former Indian skipper's grounded personality and calm energy were qualities that deeply impressed him.

He also admired Dhoni's humility and the composed demeanor he brings to the game. Emraan signed off by saying, “It's a tough pick between Virat, Rohit, and Dhoni. Umm…Dhoni. Because of the kind of person that he is." He noted on what he loves about Dhoni: “I don't know; he's so grounded. His energy is so grounded and calm. Very humble energy.”

Well, the Bollywood actor's unwavering support for MI and his admiration for Dhoni, Rohit, and Kohli proves that he is a dedicated cricket fan. Like every India, the actor also celebrated India's T20 World Cup 2024 triumph.
