Even though Virat Kohli is not the Royal Challengers Bengaluru captain anymore, it has not stopped him from showing his leadership on the field. The former India captain has been highly proactive in the on-field decision-making for RCB.
He was at it again on Thursday (May 29) during the ongoing first qualifier between RCB and Punjab Kings at the Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium, Mullanpur, Chandigarh. Virat Kohli played a key part in in-form Priyansh Arya's dismissal in the match.

Arya, who had scored a brilliant match-winning fifty against Mumbai Indians in the last game, hit a cracking four in the very first over to get into his groove. However, his stay at the crease came to an end in the second over with Yash Dayal dismissing him. And Virat Kohli was instrumental in plotting the downfall of the PBKS opener.
Before the ball was bowled, Virat Kohli was seen gesturing with his hand, mimicking a cover drive as if he was predicting Arya's next shot. And just as Kohli foresaw, the left-handed batsman played a cover drive on the very next delivery but ended up hitting the ball straight to Krunal Pandya at the covers.
With his plan working perfectly, Kohli looked pumped up as he celebrated the wicket in his usual animated manner. Arya departed after scoring 7 runs off 5 balls.

Coming to the game, RCB are off to a solid start after their captain Rajat Patidar won the toss and opted to bowl first. At the time of writing this report, PBKS were reeling at 37/3 in the 5th over. After Arya's departure, Prabhsimran Singh and captain Shreyas Iyer also returned to the pavilion cheaply.
Both teams will be desperate to win the game and qualify for the final. On the other hand, the losing team will be facing the winner of the Eliminator for a place in the final.
