Yashasvi Jaiswal and Ben Stokes were involved in a heated exchange on Day 1 of the second Test between England and India in the ongoing Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy. England skipper Ben Stokes attempted to sledge the young Indian opener, who gave it right back with a sharp response on the field.
Yashasvi Jaiswal was on course for a hundred in the second match. The 23-year-old reached his 16th fifty-plus score in just 21 Tests. However, Ben Stokes dismissed Jaiswal for 87 off 107 deliveries. The England captain bowled a delivery that moved away slightly, catching the outside edge of Jaiswal’s bat.

The incident between Yashasvi Jaiswal and Ben Stokes took place during the first session of Day 1 in the second Test. Jaiswal nudged a 137 kmph delivery from Stokes to the leg side and called for a quick single with Karun Nair in the 17th over of India’s first innings.
As Jaiswal sprinted between the wickets, Stokes intentionally stepped into his path, sparking an immediate reaction from the young Indian batter. Jaiswal responded sharply, saying, “You don't wanna hear it from me, come on.”
On the very next delivery, Stokes bowled another back-of-a-length ball, which Nair defended. Instead of chasing the ball, Stokes walked a few steps toward Jaiswal and asked, “What were you saying?”
However, many fans online speculated that Virat Kohli was mentioned during the exchange. Kohli had announced his retirement from Test cricket ahead of the series.
