India National Cricket Team bowlers are on a full song with the ball, but their sloppy fielding is leaving them frustrated in the ongoing ICC Champions Trophy 2025 clash against the Bangladesh National Cricket Team. After Rohit Sharma and Hardik Pandya’s blunders, KL Rahul made another lapse to leave Virat Kohli frustrated at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium.

India’s latest fielding mess unfolded in the 23rd over and interestingly, it was Jaker Ali, who benefitted from KL Rahul’s poor efforts behind the stumps in Dubai. It was the second time when Jaker Ali got the lifeline on the ongoing Champions Trophy 2025 match on February 20.

Virat Kohli fumes as KL Rahul’s stumping blunder gives Jaker Ali another lifeline

On the first ball of the 22nd over of Bangladesh’s innings, Ravindra Jadeja delivered a drifting full ball towards the leg-stump, drawing Jaker Ali forward for a flick. The Bangladeshi batter stepped out of his crease, leaving the door wide open for a stumping at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium.

But in a shocking turn of events, Rahul fumbled and failed to grab the ball cleanly, missing the stumping, as the Men in Blue missed the golden opportunity to take the crucial wicket. As Jaker escaped for the second time, Virat Kohli couldn't hide his frustration, screaming loudly at Rahul.

Rohit Sharma registers worst catching efficiency in ODIs

Before Rahul’s error, Indian captain Rohit Sharma had made the blunder and Jaker escaped to trouble the Indian batters in the ongoing Champions Trophy 2025 clash in Dubai. Rohit denied Axar Patel his hat-trick, who dropped a sitter when Jaker has not even opened his account.

With this blunder, Rohit Sharma has achieved an unwanted record, thanks to his struggles on the field in the ODI cricket. Since 2023, the Indian skipper dropped 10 out of 22 chances in the format. Among fielders with at least 20 opportunities, Rohit has the lowest catching efficiency.

Interestingly, New Zealand’s Glenn Phillips is the fourth-worst fielder with seven drops from 23 chances.

Towhid Hridoy and Jaker Ali rescue Bangladesh from a precarious position in the ICC Champions Trophy game

Meanwhile, the Men in Blue’s fielding blunder is proving costly for them, as Jaker Ali has already notched up a well-deserved fifty, and even he has so far stitched over 120-run partnership with Towhid Hridoy for the sixth wicket to help Bangladesh recover from the early setbacks.

Towhid Hridoy and Jaker both have now set and looking dangerous, as the Tigers are racing towards 200 runs on the board and they still have five wickets and over 10 overs against India in the ongoing ICC Champions Trophy 2025 match in Dubai on Thursday.

While Hridoy is playing at 70*, Joker Is not far behind with 59* against India. Notably, Bangladesh had to wait for a long time before finally finding the boundary again in the ongoing clash in Dubai. After Kuldeep Yadav’s free hit in the 20th over, it took the Tigers 63 deliveries to hit another four. The drought ended by Jaker Ali, who played a beautiful on-drive off Harshit Rana.
