But this wasn't the case as Kohli's horrible run with the bat continued. He looked very active at the crease, and with the way he moved his feet, it seemed that we were up for something special. But it was Josh Hazlewood who had his number yet again.

Josh Hazlewood bowled a short ball that climbed sharply and got too big on Virat Kohli. The edge was found around the bat's shoulder, and it went for a comfortable catch at first slip. The ball nipped away a touch in the channel as the batter came for the forward press that left him in a poor position.

Kohli ended with an inning of 5 runs off 12 balls. With his wicket, India National Cricket Team lost their third wicket and were left reeling at 32/3. The batter was expected to take the responsibility and play the big innings for the team but his poor run with bat continued even in Perth.

Virat Kohli, since 2020, hasn't been at his best in the longest format of the game. The premier batter has managed just two tons and has been averaging low as well. This year in Tests, the right-hander has looked horrible with the bat and has struggled big time.

Virat Kohli, in the last 11 innings, has scored just 197 runs at an average of 19.7. His scores read: 6, 17, 47, 29*, 0, 70, 1, 17, 4, 1, 5. The batter would be hoping to make a mark in the second innings and help his team win the game, silencing his critics with the bat.

The onus will now be on Rishabh Pant and Dhruv Jurel to bail the team out of trouble. The India National Cricket Team are left tottering at 47/4, and the duo would want to stitch the partnership and take the team to the fighting first innings total.
