IND vs NZ 2021: Watch - Virat Kohli Knocked Over By Rachin Ravindra After A Sedate Knock
Indian skipper Virat Kohli’s average form continued as he fell playing a strange shot to Rachin Ravindra’s delivery on Day 3 of the second Test between India and New Zealand.
Kohli took his time to get settled in, fought through the early phase in his innings before gifting his wicket on a silver platter to Ravindra. On a turning track that had variable bounce, Kohli attempted a cut shot to a delivery that wasn’t wide enough.
The ball came straight on with the arm and Kohli’s attempted cut only found the under edge which uprooted the off stump. His knock of 36 was unconvincing but spending time out in the middle seemed to be the priority. However, it was cut short just when it seemed like it could take off for the Indian skipper.
India continued to build on their huge first-innings lead with an eye on tiring the Kiwis to a state where they will find it extremely hard to recover from. Mayank Agarwal, Cheteshwar Pujara, and Shubman Gill all got off to good starts but couldn’t push on in their quest to up the ante.
Ajaz Patel continued to be the chief wicket-taker for the Kiwis as he bagged three more to his 10-wicket haul in the first innings. He was provided some help finally in the second innings by Ravindra after doing all the hard work in the first innings.
