Watch: Virat Kohli stuns Sanjay Manjrekar
Kohli, who was going through a lean patch in the longest format of the game, finally returned to form on Sunday, November 24. He played an absolutely sensational knock against the Aussies and showed why he is regarded as one of the greatest visiting batters in Australia.
He took his time to get going, but once he settled down, the batter smashed the bowlers all over the park for boundaries. As Kohli was going all guns blazing, Sanjay Manjrekar, while speaking on-air, said that Kohli shouldn't attack the superstar spinner Nathan Lyon.
Sanjay Manjrekar said, "I don’t think he should be really trying to hit Nathan Lyon out of the ground."
However, as Manjrekar said that just before the 3rd ball of the 132nd over, Kohli played a brilliant shot to leave him astonished. The spinner delivered a full-length delivery outside off-stump, and Kohli cheekily played a reverse sweep to register a boundary.
Looking at this, Manjrekar was stunned and he said, "Oh dear wow and he's letting the umpire know, it's the bat mister and it takes him into the 90s."
