India batter Virat Kohli won the hearts of many with his gesture during the ceremony of the T20 World Cup 2024 win at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. The Indian team was rewarded by the BCCI at the iconic Stadium. 

Virat Kohli was at his animated best during the T20 World Cup 2024 parade. The batter was enjoying to the fullest as he made sure that he celebrated the title win to the fullest. The right-hander looked in a joyous mood throughout the entire day since the time India landed at home. 

Virat Kohli also was seen during a heartwarming gesture. When the Indian team at the Wankhede Stadium was asked to come on the stage by BCCI secretary Jay Shah and President Roger Binny to collect the prize money, Kohli showed the utmost respect to skipper Rohit Sharma and vice-captain Hardik Pandya. 

Virat Kohli was seen asking Rohit Sharma and Hardik Pandya to go ahead of him and lead the team to the stage at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. The video went viral on the internet and it saw Kohli receiving a lot of praise.

Virat Kohli didn't have the kind of tournament that he would've wanted. The batter failed in all the games ahead of the final. But when it mattered the most, he stepped up big time and made sure he bailed his team out of trouble after they lost early wickets. 

Virat Kohli played the role of an anchor to perfection as he realized the need to bat deep and played a perfect innings. His knock ensured that India stayed in the game and ended up with a winning total against South Africa in the final, which took place at the Kensington Oval in Bridgetown, Barbados. 

Virat Kohli ended with a vital innings of 76 runs off 59 balls. He batted with a strike rate of around 130 and slammed 6 fours and 2 sixes in his innings. Ahead of the final, he just had 75 runs to his name. His knock in the final also saw him winning Player of the Match for his innings 

Virat Kohli retires from T20Is 

While India won the World Cup and gave immense joy to fans, it was also an emotional day for many. This was because Virat Kohli called time on his career from the T20Is, stating that he had already made up his mind for this and it's time for the next generation to take on the team forward. 

Virat Kohli was an incredible servant for India in the T20Is. He played a lot of famous knocks for his team throughout his career and helped India win the games from the jaws of defeat. His absence will leave a massive void in the team and it remains to be seen who will replace him. 

Virat Kohli played 125 matches for India in the T20Is. He is India's second-highest run-scorer in the format. In his career, he slammed 4188 at an average of 48.69 and a strike rate of 137.04.
