Watch: Virat Kohli storms into RCB celebrations, dances with Women's team after historic WPL triumph

With the Royal Challengers Bangalore finally ending their long wait for a trophy, their oldest playing member – Virat Kohli – made sure to celebrate the triumph in style. The franchise’s women’s team created history by winning the second edition of the Women’s Premier League (WPL).
The Smriti Mandhana-led side beat Delhi Capitals in the final to lift the title for the first time. Having finished second last in the inaugural edition of the WPL, RCB beat defending champions Mumbai Indians in the Eliminator before getting the better of Delhi Capitals.
Batting first, Delhi were bowled out for just 113 runs in the 19th over. Barring openers Shafali Varma (44) and Meg Lanning (23), no other batter could score more than 12 runs. For RCB, Shreyanka Patil and Sophie Molineux starred with the ball, taking four and three wickets respectively.
With the bat, the Bengaluru-based outfit chased down the total with three balls remaining. Openers Mandhana and Sophie Devine gave the team a solid start by adding 49 runs for the opening wicket. Ellyse Perry and Richa Ghosh then shared an unbeaten stand of 33 runs to take their team home.

Virat Kohli celebrates with RCB team:
As the RCB team was busy celebrating the historic triumph, they received a call from none other than Virat Kohli. The former India skipper is the oldest playing member of the franchise. He is plying his trade for RCB from the very inaugural season of the IPL, 2008. No other player has played for one franchise for so long in the IPL. As Mandhana and her teammates danced their hearts out to celebrate the win, Virat Kohli joined in.

Virat Kohli will have the opportunity to win another title for RCB in the coming days when the IPL gets underway. RCB’s men’s team is yet to win the competition and will be seeking inspiration from the women’s team as it will be desperate to go all the way.
IPL 2024 will get underway on March 22. RCB will be in action on the very first day of the competition when they take on reigning champions Chennai Super Kings.
