With Kohli calling his Test retirement, it marked the end to his illustrious 14-year-long career. The India National Cricket Team batter gave his best for the team in the format and put the side on a completely different level, making them a dominating force.

Virat Kohli made his debut in 2011 and changed the entire complexion of the Indian Test team

Kohli made his debut in 2011 and was then appointed as the captain of the team in 2014. Since then, he has achieved a lot of things apart from his batting. He made sure that he instilled a fitness culture in the team, and it was under his leadership that the team started winning overseas.

Kohli, under his leadership, didn't lose a single Test series at home, which speaks about his dominance. Not only this, the India National Cricket Team also went on to win the Test series in Australia for the first time during the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2018-19.

Virat Kohli's absence will leave a massive void in the Test team

Kohli also went on to draw the series in England and also took the team to the final of the ICC World Test Championship 2021. He ended his career as the greatest ever Indian Test captain as he has the most wins among Indians as a leader, winning 40 matches out of 68.

In the 123 games that he played in Test cricket, Kohli scored 9,230 runs at an average of 46.85. His tally also included 30 Test tons and 31 fifties. With the kind of impact that he made, it's fair to say that his absence will leave a massive void in the team.
