India batting star Virat Kohli failed to contribute with the bat in the third and final IND vs AFG T20I on Wednesday (January 17). The game was played at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru, Virat Kohli’s IPL home ground and expectations were sky-high for the former India skipper.
However, he failed to get going and was dismissed for a golden duck by Fareed Ahmed. But the failure with the bat did not stop Virat Kohli from making a big impact in the game and playing a crucial role in India’s thrilling win over Afghanistan.
He was at his best in the field and came up with some stunning efforts that proved very crucial in the win. In the 17th over, he came up with a game-changing effort by preventing what seemed like a certain six, saving five crucial runs for Team India. Karim Janat’s powerful shot appeared destined to clear the boundary, but the India superstar’s timely jump to intercept the ball turned what could have been a six into one run. It turned out to be a very crucial save as the match ended in a tie.
