A mix of chemistry between Team India’s two fiery characters, Virat Kohli and Mohammed Siraj, has been on full display in the ongoing fourth Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25 against Australia at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) in Melbourne.

On Day 4 of the thrilling Boxing Day Test between India and Australia at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG), Virat Kohli once again showcased why he’s loved by fans worldwide. Kohli’s heartwarming gesture towards teammate Mohammed Siraj left Indian fans in awe at the MCG.

As the crowd at the MCG chanted "Kohli, Kohli" during Siraj’s run-up, the former Indian captain, who is known for his aggression and leadership on the field, decided to shift the spotlight to the Indian pace bowler on Day 4 of the ongoing Boxing Day Test.

As Mohammed Siraj took his run-up, Virat Kohli walked toward the Indian supporters and gestured for them to cheer for the Indian pacer instead. Acknowledging his signal, the fans quickly switched their chants to “DSP, DSP,” a nickname given to Siraj by the fans, referring to his role as the Deputy Superintendent of Police.

Not just that, Kohli ensured the Indian crowd’s energy didn’t waver, as he continued encouraging the fans to cheer louder as Siraj charged in to bowl to Mitchell Starc. Notably, Siraj was honored with the position of Deputy Superintendent of Police in October 2024 by the Telangana government for his contribution to India’s 2024 T20 World Cup triumph.

Notably, Kohli's heartfelt gesture towards Siraj won fans’ hearts, who praised him as the "real captain." Social media was flooded with admiration, with one user writing, "He is our real king, the real captain." Another commented, "Nice gesture by Kohli," while a third added, "Virat knows how to lift the spirits! Siraj is on fire, and the crowd at MCG knows it."

Indian bowlers battle as Australia ends Day 4 at 228/9 with a lead of 333

Meanwhile, Mohammed Siraj bounced back brilliantly at the MCG on Day 4 after a challenging first innings where he returned wicketless against Australia. Bowling with great precision and heart, the Indian pacer picked up three crucial wickets in Australia’s second innings.

Siraj dismissed key players Marnus Labuschagne, Steve Smith, and Usman Khawaja on Day 4 of the ongoing Boxing Day Test. At the close of play on Day 4, Australia stood strong at 228/9 in their second innings, taking a lead of 333 runs against India at the MCG.

Nathan Lyon remained unbeaten on 41, joined by Scott Boland on 10*. The duo put together a crucial final-wicket partnership of 55* runs, frustrating the Indian bowlers and adding valuable runs to Australia's lead to make the task tough for the tourists in the ongoing fourth Test match.

Earlier, Kohli has faced controversy in the MCG Test. On Day 1, the dashing right-hander had a heated moment with Australian debutant Sam Konstas after a shoulder bump, leading Usman Khawaja to step in and calm things down. Later, Kohli was booed by the Aussie crowd on Day 2 at the MCG
