Indian cricket team head coach Gautam Gambhir and batting maestro Virat Kohli have already grabbed all the spotlight as expected even before the start of the upcoming three-match ODI series against England, starting from August 2 in Colombo.

India already whitewashed the Sri Lanka cricket team in the three-match T20I series under the captaincy of Suryakumar Yadav earlier this week, and now they are aiming for another clean sweep in Colombo.

The Men in Blue came to the island nation with a strong team, with the 2024 T20 World Cup-winning captain Rohit Sharma in charge for the ODI series in Sri Lanka. Another heavyweight is Kohli, who will also be seen in action for the first time in ODI cricket since the 2023 ODI World Cup final against Australia.

Well, the dashing right-hander would be eager to score big runs on the Sri Lanka tour, and he was also seen in great pain during the practice session. Gambhir and Kohli have had their fair share of heated moments, most notably during the IPL.

So, it was obvious that all eyes would be on them, and the duo and the cricket world left surprised when they reunited during India’s training session at the R. Premadasa Cricket Stadium in Colombo.

From having a serious conversation to sharing a laugh during a training session in Colombo, Gambhir, and Kohli have been all over social media even before the start of the ODI series between India and Sri Lanka. Now, another Kohli-Gambhir moment is going viral on social media, all thanks to the Indian cricket board.

Actually, the BCCI shared a video of the Indian cricket team's practice sessions on X, and this showed how intense preparations are underway for the upcoming ODI series in Sri Lanka under the watchful eyes of the head coach, Gambhir.

The footage begins with Kohli, KL Rahul, and Rohit Sharma arriving at the ground, with the former Indian skipper immediately making an impact by hitting a powerful shot off Kuldeep Yadav's bowling, while Gambhir observes closely.

Apart from Kuldeep, Harshit Rana was also seen in action, bowling to Virat, Rohit, and Rahul, with Gambhir closely monitoring the Delhi lad’s performance during the net session in Colombo.

Before moving on to fielding drills, Shreyas Iyer is seen practicing his bowling. Both Iyer and Kuldeep engage in one-handed catching drills. Kohli's trademark speed and precision are evident as he executes quick arm pickups and throws.

The Indian batting superstar also played a giant shot during the practice session, which left Gambhir awestruck. In the video, it was clear how Gambhir was amazed by watching Kohli’s monstrous shot at the nets in Colombo.

There were a lot of speculations about the equation between Kohli and Gambhir, but the coach had already cleared that they were “on the same page” as regards achieving success for the Indian team.
