Tilak Varma creates history with back-to-back tons in T20I
Tilak Varma was once again sent to bat at the No.3 position after his stellar ton in the previous match against the Proteas.
The youngster made sure to repay the faith of his skipper by once again playing an incredible knock in T20I cricket. Tilak Varma played an attacking brand of cricket right from the start and took the South African bowlers to the cleaners.
He smashed the bowlers all over the park and looked unstoppable out in the middle. He completed his half-century off 22 balls and then accelerated further to complete a marvelous ton off just 41 deliveries.
He reached the three-figure mark on the first ball of the 19th over, which was bowled by Sipamla. Tilak took a double to complete the century and then came in running in delight to celebrate.
He removed his helmet, pointed a hand towards Suryakumar Yadav, and had another hand on his ear. The youngster also blew a flying kiss towards his skipper. Looking at Varma complete a ton, the head coach VVS Laxman, Hardik Pandya, and Suryakumar Yadav were absolutely thrilled.

India batters dominated in previous T20I
In the third T20I in Centurion, Indian batters put up a great display, racking up a score of 219/6. After an early dismissal of Sanju Samson falling for a duck, Abhishek Sharma played a quickfire innings, hitting 50 off 25 balls. His innings were studded with three boundaries and five sixes, and it gave India the momentum they needed.
Meanwhile, the true star of the Indian innings was the left-handed batsman Tilak Varma, who smashed his maiden T20I ton. He smashed an exceptional 107* off 56 deliveries, including eight boundaries and seven maximum.
Captain Suryakumar Yadav couldn’t make an impact, departing for a mere one run, while Hardik Pandya (18 off 16) looked steady before being trapped LBW by Keshav Maharaj. Rinku Singh contributed 8 off 13 but struggled to score freely, and Ramandeep Singh’s brisk 15 off 6 helped India close out strongly.
Notably, South Africa’s bowlers had little success containing India, with Gerald Coetzee conceding 51 runs in his three overs, while Simelane and Maharaj managed to pick up two wickets each.
