India's off-spinner Washington Sundar got the big wicket of Rachin Ravindra for the second time in the same Test match between India and New Zealand at Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium, Pune. In both the innings, Sundar bowled Ravindra to provide India with a vital breakthrough.

In the second innings, Washington Sundar bowled a length ball from around the wicket which was bowled at a good speed. The batter went back for the cut shot but the ball hurried onto him to smash the off stump.

The ball seemingly came quickly after pitching and instead of turning away, it went straight on. Ravindra was clearly beaten by the pace of the ball and lost his wicket for just 9 runs.

It was a big wicket for India as Rachin Ravindra has been the thorn in the flesh for them in the series so far. Ravindra was bowled by Washington Sundar in the first innings of the match too when Sundar bowled a length ball and got it turn away to smash the stump.

Ravindra scored a magnificent 65 in the first innings but could accumulate just 9 runs in the second innings. The wicket pumped up the Indian team who were desperately searching for the big breakthrough.

The young New Zealand batter was looking extremely confident till that point but it was Sundar again who picked up his wicket for the second time in a row. The offspinner picked up three of the first four wickets during New Zealand's second innings.

Washington Sundar picks up career best figures

Washington Sundar is having a fantastic match with the ball despite India's struggles. The young offspinner finished with 7-59 in the first innings and helped to reduce New Zealand to a low score.

Sundar made full use of spin-friendly conditions and pitched the ball perfectly. He is easily the pick of the bowlers for India in this Test. With the bat, he remained not out on 18 and was the only Indian batter not to be dismissed.

Meanwhile, it is turning out to be a good match for New Zealand so far. The visitors posted a competitve 259 in the first innings thanks to half-centuries from Rachin Ravindra and Devon Conway.

Mitchell Santner shines for New Zealand

In reply, India had another disappointed outing with the bat and were all out for just 156. Three Indian batters reached the 30-run mark but no one could score a fifty. Left-arm spinner Mitchell Santner picked up 7-53 for New Zealand.

In the second innings, New Zealand are currently racing away to a great lead. It is going to be a tough chase for India in the fourth innings of the match and it remains to be seen how the batters handle the pressure of a do-or-die game.
