Former Indian opener Wasim Jaffer has become quite a revelation on social media courtesy of his hilarious tweets and witty memes.

With the deadline for the IPL franchises to submit their final retention list approaching on December 20, fans on social media were abuzz about the players that their favorite franchises might release ahead of the mini-auction.

It is at this point that one of the RCB fans requested Wasim Jaffer, who also happens to be Kings XI Punjab’s batting coach, to return their current skipper KL Rahul to the Virat Kohli-led side.

KL Rahul, who has scored more than 600 runs in the last three seasons of the IPL was a part of the Royal Challengers Bangalore until he was released ahead of the 2018 auctions.

“Sir kl rahul ko wapis rcb me de do plzzzzzzzz,” wrote one of the RCB fans.

“Fir hamare pass kya bachega,” Wasim Jaffer responded.

Another RCB fan asked Wasim Jaffer to give the ‘Universe Boss’ Chris Gayle back to the Bangalore-based franchise. Jaffer proceeded to reply with Gayle in a KXIP jersey.

Meanwhile, KXIP has released as many as nine players while retaining 16 ahead of the mini-IPL auction, which is set to take place next month. While Glenn Maxwell, who was a colossal disappointment in the 2020 edition, has been released as is New Zealand all-rounder James Neesham, Chris Gayle, Chris Jordan, and Nicholas Pooran are the only three overseas players that have been retained by KXIP.

“The plan was to keep the core of the team, and make sure the players who were part of the team last season will continue this year as well. We believe that this group along with whoever we pick at the auctions to fill those gaps will be able to turn things around for Kings XI Punjab,” Head Coach Anil Kumble said.
