Rohit Sharma is India's man of the moment right now after leading India to the T20 World Cup title. Under his leadership, India won the T20 World Cup final in Barbados beating South Africa by seven runs.

He achieved a unique record of winning two T20 World Cups one as a player and one as a captain. His dream to win an ODI World Cup is still unrelinquished. He came very close to winning it last year in the final but lost out to Australia.

However, this time around, almost six months after the ODI World Cup defeat, it was Rohit Sharma who won India a much-awaited and much-deserved T20 World Cup title. India had an unbeaten World Cup campaign and became the first team to win an ICC T20 World Cup title as an unbeaten team.

The Indian players landed in Delhi on July 4 and then met with Prime Minister Narendra Modi. In the evening, they were a part of an Open Bus Parade in Mumbai and were felicitated by the BCCI at the Wankhede stadium.

After all the celebrations, members of the Indian team dispersed and went back to their respective homes. Virat Kohli went to London to be with his wife Anushka Sharma and children.

Rohit too came back to his residence at the Ahuja Towers in Worli. He was greeted with a grand welcome by his childhood friends and family members inside the society. India cricketer Tilak Varma was also among them.

They performed the Flair strut' to welcome him and were wearing special Rohit Sharma T-shirts. They imitated the slow walks exactly in the manner in which Rohit Sharma went up to the podium to lift the T20 World Cup title with the Indian team.

Meanwhile, Rohit Sharma's childhood friends wore a special jersey with "You believe in Karma, we believe in Rohit Sharma" printed on it. That was their way of paying tribute to Rohit Sharma for winning India the T20 World Cup title.

Team 45 Ro, the Indian skipper's official media team, took to Instagram, to share the video of his friends picking Rohit up on their shoulders and enjoying the moment with him. The floor was also decorated with flower petals to welcome back the World Cup-winning skipper at home.

Rohit finally ended India's 13-year wait to win their next ICC World Cup title. India's last ICC title win was the 2011 ODI World Cup win. In between they won the ICC Champions Trophy in 2013 and lost every single ICC knockout game that they played since.

Rohit announced his retirement from the shortest format of the game shortly becoming T20 World Cup champions. Virat Kohli also announced his T20I retirement as well as Ravindra Jadeja. He retires from the format as a double T20 World Cup champion, winning the title in 2007 as a young up-and-coming prodigy. In 159 T20I matches, Rohit has scored 4,231 runs at an average of 32.05 with a strike rate of over 140. He scored five centuries and 32 fifties in his career.
