India's horror run against spin continued in the second innings of the third Test against New Zealand at Mumbai as Ravindra Jadeja became the latest victim. Jadeja, who looked secure till his dismissal, could not continue his stay and was finally dismissed by Ajaz Patel.

On the last ball of the 16th over, left-arm spinner Ajaz Patel bowled a length ball outside off. The ball spun sharply towards Jadeja, who looked to whip the ball away to the on-side. But the left-hander got an inside edge onto his pad.

The ball popped up in the air to the right of Will Young at short leg. Young kept his eyes on the ball and dived to his right to catch the ball with his right hand. It was a brilliant catch from Young and a much-needed wicket for New Zealand.

Watch: Will Young's one-handed stunner sends back Ravindra Jadeja

Will Young was mobbed by his teammates after the dismissal as New Zealand sensed the importance of this wicket. It also brought an end to a stubborn 42-run stand between Rishabh Pant and Ravindra Jadeja. Jadeja was expectedly distraught after this dismissal.

Brilliant partnership comes to an end

The majority of the runs in this partnership were scored by Rishabh Pant as Jadeja contributed just 6 runs. Both of them came together when India were reeling at 29-5 at one stage.

But Ravindra Jadeja's wicket tilted the scales back in New Zealand's favor. It was Ajaz Patel again, who provided the much needed breakthrough for New Zealand. The left-arm spinner picked up a five-wicket haul in the first innings and followed it up with another memorable performance in the second innings.

The credit for this dismissal also goes to Will Young, who kept his eyes on the ball till the last moment. Young had a great match with the bat as he scored two brilliant half-centuries on a pitch offering plenty of help for the spinners.

But the New Zealand's No. 3 batted excellently to negotiate India's spinners on a spin-friendly surface. He trusted his defence and showed tremendous temperament. Will Young scored 71 and 51 across two innings of the match.

Ajaz Patel shines again in the second innings

Meanwhile, the wicket also ended the match for Ravindra Jadeja. The allrounder did not have a great match with the bat but picked up 10 wickets with the ball. Jadeja picked up 5-65 in the first innings and finished with 5-55 in the second innings.

With Ravindra Jadeja's wicket, India slipped to 71-6. It was another poor batting show by India's batting line-up, who failed to live up to the expectations on a spin-friendly surface again.

India's top order failed miserably again as the poor form of Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli continued. Youngsters Yashasvi Jaiswal, Shubman Gill, and Sarfaraz Khan too succumbed to New Zealand's brilliaint spin bowling, led by Ajaz Patel.
