India National Cricket Team batter Yashasvi Jaiswal has come up with a solid effort with the bat in the ongoing Test match against the Australia National Cricket Team. The Optus Stadium in Perth is hosting the series opener of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25.
Yashasvi Jaiswal is enjoying his time in Australia as he has put the India National Cricket Team in a strong position in the ongoing game. The opening batter, after bagging a duck in the first innings, has produced one of his best overseas knocks for the India National Cricket Team.
Jaiswal, opening the innings right from the start, looked very watchful. He defended the ball pretty well at the right and made the Australia National Cricket Team bowlers frustrated. He hardly put a foot wrong in his innings and has made sure he allows his team to take control of the game.
Jaiswal, apart from being defensive, has displayed classical stroke play. The opening batter played some magical shots in his innings and one of the hits that caught the attention of the many was the massive six that he hit against the off-spinner Nathan Lyon.
On the 4th ball of the 52nd over, Nathan Lyon bowled a delivery to which Yashasvi Jaiswal danced down the track and launched it over the boundary. The opening batter was close enough, freed the arms, and smoked it over long-on for a massive 100-meter six.

Yashasvi Jaiswal scripts history as he becomes the batter with most number of sixes in calender year
With this six, Jaiswal also scripted history as he became the batter with most number of sixes in calender year. The batter now has hit 34 maximums this year in the longest format of the game as he surpassed Brendon McCullum to go at the top of the elite list.
Jaiswal, who is playing his first game in the Australian, has made a massive impact on the team. The opening batter racked up a solid half-century and with the way he is batting, he is looking all set for a massive knock in the first game of the series itself.
Yashasvi Jaiswal ended Day 2 unbeaten at 90 runs off 193 balls
Jaiswal ended Day 2 of the ongoing first Test against the Australia National Cricket Team on high. He remained unbeaten at 90 runs off 193 balls. The opening batter also hit 7 fours and 2 sixes in his innings and would want to double his effort on Day 3.
Jaiswal, along with KL Rahul (65*), ensured that the India National Cricket Team didn't lose any wickets on Day 2. The duo added an unbeaten 172-run partnership that saw the Jasprit Bumrah-led side take a lead of 218 runs. They would be hoping to set as big a target as possible and win the first game.
