India National Cricket Team opener Yashasvi Jaiswal’s calm yet fiery warning to the youngster Sai Sudharsan on Day 1 of the ongoing fourth Test of the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy at the Old Trafford Cricket Ground in Manchester has taken social media by storm.
In the 37th over of India’s innings, Sai Sudharsan decided to take a quick single after tapping the ball off Brydon Carse, but his batting partner Yashasvi Jaiswal was still yards away from safety at the non-striker’s end. And that’s where India could have lost a wicket to England.
Yashasvi Jaiswal’s on-field warning to Sai Sudharsan in the Manchester Test goes viral
The ball narrowly beat the mid-on fielder, and had it been a direct hit, Yashasvi Jaiswal would’ve been walking back to the pavilion. However, the Indian opener survived, but the moment turned into a fan-favorite clip that is now going viral across social media platforms.

Instead of reacting in frustration, the left-handed batter walked over, composed but clear, and said, “Sai, ball jaane toh de yaar,” telling his partner to wait a beat before making such a risky call, as the Indian cricket team is looking to level the ongoing five-match Test series against England in Manchester.
When Sai made the call, Yashasvi Jaiswal was looking at the mid-on fielder. Jaiswal’s quick warning to Sai reminded fans and the cricket fraternity of the intensity and presence of mind needed in Test cricket.

Meanwhile, Sai Sudharsan made the most of his comeback by notching up a composed fifty. Batting at No. 3, Sai played a gritty knock of 61 runs off 151 balls, laced with seven boundaries, and added 72 runs with Rishabh Pant before the latter retired hurt with an injury.

India 264/4 at stumps on Day 1 as Rishabh Pant's injury raises alarm
India started strong on Day 1 of the fourth Test at Old Trafford, scoring 78 runs in the first session without losing a wicket. KL Rahul (46) and Yashasvi Jaiswal (58) handled England’s new-ball attack well. But England bounced back after lunch as Chris Woakes removed Rahul, and Liam Dawson got Jaiswal soon after.
Sai Sudharsan and Rishabh Pant (37*) steadied the innings with a solid partnership. Sudharsan scored a fine 61 before getting out. Pant, however, had to retire hurt after a painful blow to his ankle from Woakes. India ended Day 1 at 264/4, but Pant’s injury is a major concern.
England are all set to take the second new ball first thing on Day 2, and the first hour could decide the flow of the match. With the pitch already starting to behave unevenly, batting will only get harder as the day goes on.
If India manages to survive the morning session on Day 2, they could push their total to around 350, which will feel like 450 on this tricky surface. But if England strikes early and wins the session, they might be able to keep India to 325 or even less at the Old Trafford Cricket Ground.
