New Zealand captain Tom Latham expressed joy after his team's historic series whitewash, particularly following a recent series loss to Sri Lanka. Tom Latham praised his teammates for their ability to adjust to different conditions at each venue in the recently concluded three-match Test series in India.
New Zealand secured a 25-run victory in the third Test match at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on Sunday, October 3. Ajaz Patel and Will Young helped them to complete a whitewash win against India. Ajaz took a 10-wicket haul, while Will Young scored two half-centuries for the New Zealand team.

Speaking after the match in a post-match presentation, Tom Latham said that his teammates had done a fantastic job over the last three Test matches. Latham highlighted how various players made valuable contributions at critical moments throughout the series.
"Very ecstatic. Looking back at the start of the series to now be in this position, the boys have done a fantastic job over the last three Test matches. We are pretty happy," Latham said.
"Just being able to adapt to each grounds, I wouldn't say it's been a one way of doing things. The seamers did a great job in Bangalore. different guys stood up at different times and that's the beauty of a team sport. When you look at the scores, it wasn't necessarily big runs, but it was contributions were looking for," he added.
We Didn't Play That Bad Over There - Tom Latham
Tom Latham said that they had only dreamt of whitewashing the India team before arriving in the country. Latham said that toss results worked in their favor in India on challenging surfaces. He also mentioned that they drew inspiration from New Zealand’s women’s team winning the World Cup.
"Not a lot (changed), we didn't play that bad over there (in Sri Lanka). We fell on the right side of a couple of tosses, which is important in these conditions. We had the belief that we had enough runs on the board. We came here, we bowled really well this morning," Latham stated.
"When you are chasing a score on a tricky wicket, runs on the board is always important. Girls winning the World Cup was fantastic. But, to be in this position, we could have only dreamt of being in this position when we turned up here three weeks ago," he concluded.
Rishabh Pant Scored Quickfire Half-Century in India's Second Innings
Chasing a target of 147 runs, India lost five wickets with just 29 runs on the board. Rishabh Pant scored 64 runs off 57 balls, including nine fours and a six.
Pant kept India in contention, but the team struggled again after his dismissal. Ajaz Patel recorded a six-wicket haul (6/57) in the fourth innings of the match.
