All the rumours around KL Rahul stop flowing as the Delhi Capitals (DC) have made a statement ahead of the IPL 2027 season. KL Rahul is going nowhere; that's the clear message DC made it clear through their social media post on the evening of September 7.

DC shared a video featuring their star keeper-batter, KL Rahul, across their official social media accounts. The video gained attention from cricket fans on social media platforms instantly.

KKR-KL Rahul speculations come to an end

Ahead of the IPL 2027 season, there are multiple speculations going around social media platforms. Some of the trade rumours were linked with Rahul and Delhi Capitals. Multiple social media reports claimed that the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) were behind the experienced keeper-batter for the 2027 campaign.

KKR have been linked with multiple social media speculations as the former IPL champions are likely to make a few changes in their team ahead of the next season. The Kolkata-based franchise was also linked with the Mumbai Indians (MI) captain Hardik Pandya. However, none of the speculations have proven true as of now.

KL Rahul himself shut down all the trade rumours

Amid the growing tensions around KL Rahul's IPL career, Delhi Capitals made their stance clear: they are keeping their opener for another season. In the previous season, Capitals missed the play-offs, but as an individual, the right-handed batter was in peak form, scoring runs at a constant pace.

In the video, Rahul said to the supporters of the Delhi Capitals to keep supporting the team, and he is looking forward to seeing the DC fans again.

"Let's go, Delhi people! Let's go to Gedi. I'm home. Delhi, let's roll. Keep the support going, keep the noise coming, and yeah, I look forward to seeing you all," Rahul said in the video.

KL Rahul was the top batter for Delhi Capitals in IPL 2026

Rahul was at his peak for the franchise during the previous Indian Premier League season, scoring 593 runs in 14 matches and playing as many innings with an average of 45.61 and a strike rate of 174.41.

The strike rate itself says more about his batting in IPL 2026. The right-hander's average strike rate in his career is 139.14, but in 2026, he batted at a strike rate of over 170. During the course of the season, he recorded one century and five half-centuries.

Ahead of the IPL 2026 season, many cricket fans and experts criticized the keeper-batter for batting not so aggressively in the shortest format of the game. While newcomer batters like Vaibhav Sooryavanshi scored runs for fun, Rahul, in front of Sooryavanshi or Abhishek Shar, ma seemed slow to many.

The experienced batter knows how to change things. He needed only one season to increase his strike rate. While his strike rate in IPL 2025 was 149.72, in the following season it increased massively. IPL 2026 was probably the season when the cricketing world watched a different version of the batter.
