India Is Aiming To Win The World Cup Title For A Third Time
The Men In Blue are aiming for a third World Cup title victory. Most of the players are in form including the likes of Virat Kohli, Shreyas Iyer, Shubman Gill, Mohammed Shami, and Rohit Sharma. Three Indian batters have scored more than 500 runs in this World Cup and Kohli is leading the charts with 711 runs in 10 innings with a staggering average of 101.57. Meanwhile, Mohammed Shami leads the wicket-takers chart with 23 wickets in just six matches.
Australia on the other hand has seen some phenomenal performances from the likes of Glenn Maxwell, Mitchell Marsh, David Warner, Adam Zampa, and Josh Hazlewood. In fact, Josh Hazlewood troubled the Indian side early on with his test match lengths. He also recorded a figure of 2/12 in eight overs with three maidens to his name against South Africa in the semi-finals.
It will be a riveting encounter in Ahmedabad between two of the cricketing giants. The Indians have still not forgotten the Johannesburg heartbreak in the 2003 World Cup final. Ricky Ponting and his men demolished the Indian team by 125 runs in the finals in 2003. The Men In Blue will be looking to avenge the loss of the 2003 World Cup final and the World Test Championship 2023 Final.
