England will be up against the West Indies in the third of the three-match ODI series. This article provides details about the West Indies Playing 11 vs England for the third match of the series.
West Indies Playing 11 vs England- 3rd ODI, West Indies tour of England 2025:
Openers: Brandon King, Jewel Andrew
Brandon King will open the innings with Jewel Andrew for the final game of the ODI series against England.
The pair hasn't been able to stitch a formidable partnership for the opening wicket in the couple of outings that both batters have played together.
King and Andrew would like to get things right in the final game to be held on Tuesday in London, to guide the team to a much-needed win, having already lost the series.
Andrew is new on the scene and will look to make the most of the opportunity he is likely to get in the matches to come.
King, on the other hand, would be somewhat relieved after scoring a fine half-century in the second ODI and will hope to carry his form into the next match.
Middle-order batsmen and all-rounders: Keacy Carty, Shai Hope (c & wk), Amir Jangoo, Justin Greaves, Roston Chase,
Kacey Carty, who came in at number three after the fall of Andrew's wicket, smashed an attacking century and formed a crucial partnership with Brandon King for the second wicket.
WI's middle-order once again capitalized on the platform laid by three of the top four batters, with only captain Shai Hope scoring a half-century.
The final ODI is an opportunity for the West Indies middle order to put on an improved batting effort.
The onus will be on experienced all-rounder Rostan Chase to hold a relatively young middle order together, and for that, he needs to bat higher up in the batting order.
Having said that, one of the key aspects for the West Indies to do well in the batting department is how well they tackle the spin of Adil Rashid in the middle overs.
Bowlers: Matthew Forde, Gudakesh Motie, Alzarri Joseph, Jayden Seales
WI would be somewhat satisfied with the performance of their fast bowlers with the new ball in the first ten overs.
The new ball duo of Jayden Seales and Matthew Forde picked up the wickets of the English openers in the first two overs of the chase in the last game and will hope to get them again.
Having said that, the fast bowlers failed to create pressure after getting early breakthroughs as the English batters played at a good strike rate and kept the run rate up.
Alzarri Joseph, who is the most experienced bowler in the squad, tried his best to keep West Indies in the game by picking up four wickets but did not get support from the other end.
One of the problems for the West Indies in this series has been that they haven't been able to click in all three departments of the game at the same time, which was evident with the way the spinners bowled.
Both Gudakesh and Chase failed to impress as they gave away runs at an economy of over eight in their 11 overs and picked up a single wicket.
