Pakistan and West Indies will square up against each other in the two-match Test series, beginning 12th August 2021. The first Test will be played from 12th August to 16th August 2021. Both teams will play their first Test series under the second edition of the World Test Championship. Neither of them would want to start on a losing note as one could expect some high-quality contest between the sides.
West Indies’ record in the recent past in Test cricket isn’t inspiring. They suffered a 2-0 defeat at the hands of South Africa in their last home Test series. Poor run from the batting unit is a big worry for them. It will be interesting to see whether the batsmen step up in important series and make inroads.
Pakistan, on the other hand, won their last Test series against Zimbabwe 2-0. They are coming into the first Test on the back of two consecutive series wins. Babar Azam and Co. would be brimming with confidence and would be eying their third consecutive Test series win.
