West Indies Women’s Cricket Team is all set to lock horns against England for the 1st T20I match starting from 11th December (Wednesday). West Indies would be eyeing revenge as in the recently concluded ODI Series, England white-washed the Women in Maroon by 3-0.

This 5 T20I Match Series is considered to be the stepping stone for the next year’s T20 World Cup. England would be well aware of the fact that they can’t take West Indies lightly as they have a surprise element in this format unlikely to the ODIs.

Lead Selector Ann Browne John announced the squad. “The upcoming T20 series is vitally important as the team continues its preparations for the World Cup in February 2023. “Based on injuries in the CG United ODI series Chedean Nation and Shakera Selman have been ruled out at this time. Two members of the Under 19 World Cup squad, Djenaba Joseph and Trishan Holder, who have been making great progress, have been named to the squad and we believe that they will fit in well and absorb the experience. Karishma Ramharack returns to the team after missing the ODI series due to injury and Shamilia Connell who was on the injured list for the ODIs is also expected to be ready to be considered for selection later in the series.” she added.

Exciting Contest on Cards

West Indies Women has named a young squad for the T20I Series. The board has taken a great decision to include U-19 players, Dhenaba Joseph & Trishan Holder as these youngsters would get ample practice as U-19 Women’s T20 World Cup is also scheduled in 2023 in South Africa.
