Sachin Tendulkar, who is celebrating his 50th birthday today (Monday, 24th April), is the highest run-getter in the history of the game 34,357 across the formats to go with 100 centuries whereas Yuvraj Singh scored 11,778 runs to go with 17 centuries. He was no mug with the ball as he took a total of 148 wickets in all three formats.

Yuvraj Singh while wishing Sachin Tendulkar on his birthday said that no one can beat the batter in table tennis and highlighted that the batting great has been a mentor for him. Sharing on his Twitter account, he said:

“I want to say a lot of things but I have to be careful what I say to him. When he gets angry, you’ve got to make sure that you stay away from him! The greater he’s become, the more humble he is. He’s an artist when it comes to cricket. You cannot beat him in table tennis, no matter how hard you try,”

“I was shooting with him the other day and told him it’s your 50th birthday. We’ve got something special. An he was like, no it’s my 25th birthday. He’s been like a mentor to me. Especially in my tough times, he has helped me with his positivity. Happy birthday master! Lots of love and best wishes. It’s a special one.”

“Sachin’s technically the best batter that I’ve ever seen,” says Ricky Ponting

On his 50th birthday, former Australian batter Ricky Ponting also spoke about the stature of Sachin Tendulkar as a batter and said that he’s technically the best batter that he has ever seen. Speaking on ICC review, he said:

“I’ve said forever, Sachin’s technically the best batter that I’ve ever seen, and played with or against. Whatever plan that we came up with as a bowling group, he found a way to combat it, whether it was in India or Australia.”

Sachin Tendulkar is currently part of the Mumbai Indians coaching setup in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 whereas Ricky Ponting is the head coach of Delhi Capitals.
