Dale Steyn applauded Kagiso Rabada for his immaculate and raw aggression as the key factor behind South Africa's close victory over England.

The South Africans were taking on reigning ICC T20 World Cup champions England in their 2nd Super 8 match at the Darren Sammy Cricket ground. Both of the teams had won their previous match in the second round of the WC and another victory would have seen them virtually qualify for the semi-finals.

England is in a do-or-die situation against the USA

England, being the reigning champions, were expected to come out on top but unfortunately, they could not make the opportunity count. Jos Buttler's side had it all in their hands in the last 5 overs of the game but it was Kagiso Rabada who stood in their way and delivered one of the best bowling spells ever seen.

Thanks to Kagiso Rabada's performance, South Africa was able to come out on top and landed one foot inside the Super 8s. They now have the chance to enter the semi-finals with an unbeaten record throughout the tournament. The Proteas are currently only the 3rd side after India and Australia to not have lost a single game in the ICC T20 World Cup 2024 in USA and West Indies.

What did Dale Steyn say about Kagiso Rabada?

South Africa's legendary former fast bowler Dale Steyn had high praise for his successor Kagiso Rabada for the way he bowled against England yesterday. The Three Lions, after an early setback during their chase of a 160+ total, had recovered very well due to Liam Livingstone and Harry Brook's surge from the middle-order.

The duo stood for an outstanding partnership for the 5th wicket, taking England from 61/4 to 139 before Livingstone departed in the 18th over. They had scored 52 runs from the 15th over to the 17th over and it had started to look like the reigning champions would make a late comeback and win the game eventually.

However, Kagiso Rabada had other plans. The right-arm speedster, known for his aggression, took the very important wicket of Livingstone in the 18th over and then conceded just 4 runs in the next 4 deliveries. Then Anrich Nortje bowled the 19th over, took the wicket of Harry Brook, and sealed the victory for his side by 7 runs.

Even though Quinton de Kock was adjudged as man of the match for his brilliant half-century, Kagiso Rabada was the one to steal the news. Dale Steyn, who took to X (formerly Twitter) to appreciate Rabada, wrote that the aggression of the fast bowler is equivalent to a winning South African team.

Whenever Kagiso Rabada is pissed off or is determined to deliver and perform, South Africa 'inevitably wins'. "An aggressive Rabada equals a winning SA team. When he gives a fuck, and he showed that today, we inevitably win." - Dale Steyn wrote on X.
