Mandeep Singh, a former player for Royal Challengers Bangalore, observed a massive improvement when he joined the team under Virat Kohli’s captaincy.
Many cricketing legends have represented Royal Challengers Bangalore in the Indian Premier League, but only one has remained with the team since the competition’s earliest days former India captain Virat Kohli.

With 6,624 runs in 223 games, Kohli has become one of the league’s top batsmen over the years and is presently its leading scorer. The right-handed batsman now owns the IPL record for most runs scored in a single season, among other records (973 in IPL 2016).

A fitness revolution in Indian cricket is credited to Kohli as well. During his tenure as Indian captain, there was a noticeable shift in concentration toward players’ fitness programs, with a focus on “Yo-Yo tests” among other things. Mandeep Singh, a former player for the team, recently talked about the identical culture that Kohli fostered at the RCB while reflecting on his time there.

Mandeep Singh stated that when he first arrived at the franchise, he was “surprised” to witness Kohli’s dedication to fitness.

“When I first joined RCB, I was shocked by Virat Kohli’s dedication to training.” His fitness has helped him become a consistent performer in T20 cricket. “It has encouraged the ballers to improve and has helped test cricket overall,” Mandeep Singh said in a ShareChat Audio Chatroom session – ‘CricChat powered by Parimatch’, as quoted by ANI.
After the season ended, Kohli resigned as the captain of the RCB, and Faf du Plessis, a seasoned South African batsman, took over. With 341 runs scored in 16 games, the Indian hitter had a middling IPL 2022 season.
