Who Will Qualify For IPL Final If PBKS vs MI Is Washed Out To Rain?

The start of the IPL 2025 Qualifier 2 between Punjab Kings and Mumbai Indians (PBKS vs MI) was delayed due to rain. The huge clash is taking place at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
Punjab vs Mumbai match is a virtual semifinal for both teams. The winner of the match will advance to the final and face Royal Challengers Bengaluru while the loser will be eliminated from the competition. With so much at stake, both teams will be desperate to win the game.

However, even before a ball could be bowled in the PBKS vs MI match, rain arrived. Punjab Kings players had just stepped out on the field when rain began and they were forced to return to the dugout.
What will happen if PBKS vs MI Qualifier 2 is washed out?
With rain threatening to play spoilsport, there is a chance that a result may not be possible in the PBKS vs MI match. In case that happens, Punjab Kings will advance to the final while Mumbai Indians will be dumped out of IPL 2025.
The Punjab-based outfit will be progressing to the final by virtue of finishing above Mumbai Indians in the league stage of the tournament. Shreyas Iyer-captained, Punjab Kings, finished the league stage at the top of the points table with 19 points from 14 games. On the other hand, Mumbai Indians finished fourth, with 16 points from 14 games.
Talking about the game, Punjab captain Shreyas Iyer won the toss and opted to bowl first. He also revealed the reason behind his decision, saying: "We are going to bowl first. Slightly overcast and the wicket was under the covers yesterday. Based on these, we are going to bowl first. It's a fresh day, we've recovered pretty well, rejuvenated and our mindset is to go out there and win."
Both teams have made one change to their playing eleven. Yuzvendra Chahal has returned for Punjab Kings after recovering from an injury while Reece Topley has replaced Richard Gleeson in the Mumbai Indians lineup.
