Mo Bobat, Director of Cricket for Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), opened up about the acquisition of all-rounder Cameron Green ahead of the IPL 2024 auction. Bobat expressed confidence that Cameron Green would relish batting at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium.

Cameron Green made a move to Bangalore before the IPL 2024 auction. RCB confirmed the all-cash trade for Green from the Mumbai Indians on Monday with the substantial ₹17.5 crore deal. This financial boost enabled Mumbai to secure the acquisition of Hardik Pandya.

Cameron Green Is A High-Quality Batter – Mo Bobat

Speaking to RCB Bold Diaries, Mo Bobat highlighted Cameron Green as the perfect fit for the middle-order power role due to his high-quality skills and prowess against both pace and spin. Bobat praised Green’s bowling abilities and outstanding fielding skills.

“He is the ideal fit for us in that middle-order power role. He is a high-quality, skillful and powerful batsman. He has got the game against both pace and spin. He has got international experience across formats and I am sure he will enjoy batting at the Chinnaswamy,” said Bobat, as quoted by ESPNcricinfo.

“So, seeing him do that will be really exciting. He’s also a fantastic bowler and he bowls with pace and bounce, which were certainly attributes we were looking for, particularly in our home conditions. Let’s not forget what an exceptional fielder he is. Some of the catches he has taken in recent times fielding at gully is seriously impressive,” he added.

Cameron Green expressed his happiness about joining the Royal Challengers Bangalore, expressing anticipation to meet the RCB fans soon at the Chinnaswamy Stadium.

Green had an exceptional debut season in the IPL 2023, scoring 452 runs in 16 matches at an impressive average of 50.22 and a strike rate of 160.28. The all-rounder showcased his batting prowess throughout the tournament, smashing two fifties and a century.
