The India vs Pakistan clashes in recent times have been completely dominated by the India Men’s and Women’s teams. Recently, the India Women side was up against the Pakistan Women side in the group stage clash at the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026, where Harmanpreet’s side won the game by 64 runs as their arch-rivals failed to chase 171 runs.
"It is a high-pressure game": Harmanpreet Kaur on India vs Pakistan game
Ahead of the Women’s Asia Cup clash, Harmanpreet Kaur revealed while speaking on Sony Sports that any India vs Pakistan match is a high-pressure one; as a player, they have to deal with multiple things on and off the field. She believes that no other match carries more pressure than this game, with every fan watching the game, and as captain, she tries to keep it simple.
"No doubt it is a high-pressure game and as a player you need to deal with multiple things. We keep playing international cricket, but the amount of pressure in an India vs Pakistan match- that kind of pressure you don’t feel anywhere else," Harmanpreet said while speaking to Sony Sports.
"Somewhere we know every Indian is watching, not only cricket fans but every Indian is watching because that match is so important for all of us. As a captain and as a player, I try to keep things very simple, very easy," Harmanpreet added.
"A very big opportunity": Harmanpreet Kaur on playing Asian Games
Harmanpreet Kaur reflected on India winning the gold medal in the Asian Games as it is a special honour for any cricketer, with each player receiving an individual medal, making it different from the ICC events as well.
"As a cricketer, I think this is a very big opportunity because before this we have mostly played ICC tournaments but haven’t fought for a medal because as a team we have always fought for any particular trophy," Harmanpreet Kaur said.
"This is one such moment where you get your own medal and I think when it is about the medals, the motivation increases even more. Day and night, we keep thinking about how we will feel after winning the medal and how we will celebrate," Harmanpreet added.
India dominates Pakistan across formats
India women lead the overall head-to-head record against Pakistan women with 25 wins out of 28 matches. India Women lead 12–0. Pakistan has never beaten India in the 50-over format. In T20Is, the Women in Blue lead 13–3. All three of Pakistan's total wins against India in women's cricket have come in T20I matches.
They hold a 6-1 head-to-head record against Pakistan Women in the Women's Asia Cup. The last time these two sides met at an Asia Cup, Harmanpreet’s side won the game easily with seven wickets in hand.
