After the toss of the India vs Sri Lanka Test match in Colombo, the BCCI, through an official press release on social media platforms, informed that the experienced spinner is not available for the Colombo Test match because of viral illness.

But he remains with the team in Sri Lanka and could be on the ground as a concussion substitute if required during the match.
"Kuldeep Yadav has not fully recovered from his viral illness. He was unavailable for selection in the Playing XI for the second Test against Sri Lanka. However, he can take the field as a concussion substitute, if required," according to the official press release.
