Sam Curran stunned the cricket fans during the first ODI between West Indies and England in Antigua and it wasn’t due to his performance but rather his decision to come out to bat with sunglasses on.

The left-handed batsman walked out to bat in the 41st over of the innings after the dismissal of Harry Brook. And it did not take him long to grab the attention. In fact, he started grabbing attention even before he faced his first delivery as the fans were awestruck by his decision to bat while wearing the sunglasses.

The photos and videos of Sam Curran batting with his sunglasses on quickly went viral on social media. The England star also ensured that his bold decision did not backfire, delivering a fine cameo with the bat for his side. He scored 38 runs off just 26 balls before being run out. The knock was studded with three fours and two sixes and also helped England cross the 300-run mark.

This is not the first time that Sam Curran has garnered attention for his sunglasses. During IPL 2020, he became the center of all attention for donning a cool neon-coloured sunglasses. He is also not the first high-profile name to bat with the sunglasses on. In the past, legendary West Indies cricketers Brian Lara and Chris Gayle also batted while wearing the sunglasses.
