New Zealand take on West Indies in the first of the three ODIs to be played in Barbados after the T20I series win. The Kiwis won the T20I series 2-1 heading into the ODI series. They are the top-ranked ODI side in ICC rankings at the moment while West Indies are placed ninth.

The Kiwis have named a full-strength side for the ODI series with Kane Williamson, Tim Southee, Trent Boult and the other senior players back in the side. Head coach Gary Stead spoke about the importance of the series for the senior players ahead of the T20 World Cup in Australia later this year.

“For Kane, Trent, Tim and Devon, this will be the first time they have played white ball cricket for New Zealand since last year’s T20 World Cup and tour to India – so this trip will be important for them” said Gary Stead ahead of the start of this series. Meanwhile, in this article, we take a look at New Zealand’s predicted playing XI for the first ODI against India.

Daryl Mitchell can be one of the two all-rounders in this Kiwi playing XI. He can slot in at number six in the lineup. Mitchell can score some quick runs lower down the order.
