West Indies and South Africa will play a three-match T20I series just before the T20 World Cup. The matches will be played on May 23, 35 and 26 in Kingston, Jamaica.

West Indies are the co-hosts of the T20 World Cup alongside USA. The side will be without the likes of Andre Russel, Rovman Powell, Shimron Heymter, and Sherfane Rutherford who will be playing in the IPL playoffs.

Russell will be playing for KKR who have reached the IPL 2024 final. Meanwhile, West Indies skipper Powell and Hetmyer will be playing for Rajasthan Royals who will be playing Qualifier 2 against SRH on May 24.

Brandon King will lead the West Indies in the series. He will have the likes of Nicholas Pooran Kyle Mayers, Johnson Charles, Jason Holder, Akeal Hosein, Shamar Joseph, and Romario Shepherd available for the series as they are done with their IPL commitments.

South Africa will be led by Rassie Van der Dussen, who will lead the national side for the first time. A few players who played in the IPL recently are back for national commitments. Quinton de Kock, Anrich Nortje, and Gerald Coetzee will be playing in the series.

Regular T20I skipper Aiden Markram who will lead the side in the T20 World Cup is busy with his IPL commitments with SRH in the playoffs. Kagiso Rabada and David Miller who had injury concerns in the IPL have been rested for this series.
