MI coach Kieron Pollard has revealed the date of return for the English spin-bowling all-rounder Will Jacks. Pollard has also revealed that Jacks might be available before the crucial clash against the Royal Challengers Bengaluru.
The Mumbai Indians probably have one of the strongest playing squads in the IPL; however, they have struggled with some of their players not joining the squad during the initial phases of the games. One such name in English is all-rounder Will Jacks.
The England all-rounder was one of the Most Valuable Players in the ICC T20 World Cup in India, where the all-rounder had scored 250+ runs and also picked 9 wickets in the competition. He performed stunningly while batting down the order.

MI Batting Coach Kieron Pollard stated that English all-rounder Will Jacks can join the team shortly ahead of the IPL 2026 match against the Royal Challengers Bengaluru.
Speaking at the press conference, Pollard confirmed that the English cricketer is fully fit and is not aware of any concerns about his fitness. However, he also cited the depth of their squad even in the absence of Jacks.
“We’re expecting Will Jacks very soon. As you alluded to, fitness issues, to my knowledge, I don’t know anything about that. We are a team made up of over 20 members. And at this point, he’s not here. But we’ll be here soon,” he said.
"And hopefully when he’s here as well, his economy will be low, he will get wickets, and he will score runs just for you,” Pollard added, while highlighting his immediate impact and his talents with both bat and ball.

The MI team made a winning start in the IPL, winning their opening match after 13 seasons. However, the Hardik Pandya-led side then faced two consecutive losses in the IPL, as they are in eighth position in the points table.
When asked about their game in the rivalry week, Pollard emphasized the equal importance of every match and the team focusing on securing valuable points rather than any specific opponent.
“In terms of the RCB, for me, I think this is the IPL. All contests are spicy. All contests are ones that you look forward to. Because the main thing is two points at play. So for us, we don’t look too much into the opposition. We just try to come out and play good cricket as much as possible. And hopefully at the end, the result, you know, sort of goes our way,” he said.
Pollard heaps praise on veteran Rohit Sharma
The MI legend Kieron Pollard had played with the franchise since 2009 before he retired as a player and started to feature as the batting coach of the team. He has been part of the five IPL-winning squads under skipper Rohit Sharma and has also served as his deputy.
“Rohit Sharma, yes, celebrated 15 years, you know, as a Mumbai Indian player. That’s an achievement, you know, for him. Or any individual. Two, being one franchise for 15 years, not many people can say that. Luckily enough, I can say that," Pollard praised Rohit Sharma for having been a part of the franchise for 15 full years.
"But he has been a great leader for us, you know, over time. He was a great leader for Indian cricket. He has been a legend in his own right. And as I told you, long may that continue for him. And we continue to reap the rewards of his success. And as I said, we are happy to have him in our dressing room,” Pollard added.
