India National Cricket Team pacer Jasprit Bumrah arguably has been one of the best fast bowlers to have played the game of cricket. Be it any format, the fast bowler has oozed his class with the ball and has thrived for the team in tough situations.
Jasprit Bumrah oozed his class with the ball in Perth
This has been evident in the ongoing Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25. Jasprit Bumrah captained the team in the first Test in Perth in the absence of Rohit Sharma, and he did a terrific job. The fast bowler led from the front and made the Australia National Cricket Team batters dance to his tunes.
Jasprit Bumrah picked a fifer in the first innings and then followed it up with three wickets in the second innings. His stellar performance with the ball ended Australia's innings on low totals in both innings as India National Cricket Team won the game by the massive margin of 295 runs.
Jasprit Bumrah will go down as probably one of the greatest fast bowlers to play the game - Travis Head
While lauding Jasprit Bumrah, Travis Head hailed the fast bowler as one of the best in the game. He pointed out how the Australia batters are finding it challenging to face the bowler before saying that it would be too nice to tell his grandkids that he faced Bumrah. Speaking to reporters, he explained:
"Jasprit will go down as probably one of the greatest fast bowlers to play the game. I think we're finding that at the moment -- how challenging he can be, and it's nice to play against that,"
"It's gonna be nice to go back and look at your career and go tell the grandkids that you faced him. So not a bad series of playing with him. Hopefully, I'll face a few more times, but he has been challenging."
It'll be nice to do that again - Travis Head on bundling out India for 36 runs in the last pink-ball Test
Travis Head was also asked about the last pink-ball game between India and Australia, where the visitors were bundled out for just 36 runs. He recalled that game in the hope of doing that again. He also talked about the preparations for the game and said:
"I remember that it was a quick test, so it was good. We got to enjoy all of the bits of Adelaide afterwards. It'll be nice to do that again. Don't know if we can revisit. It wouldn't take very long to watch it. I don't think that will happen this week
"It's been a long time since we played one (pink ball), India got another look at it last night. Everyone's well experienced enough, especially that team as well, at your international level. I think you can accustomed to things pretty quickly. I don't think it'll take them long to be prepared for it, and same as us." He concluded.
