Former South Africa batsman AB de Villiers has revealed that he will not be able to tell about Virat Kohli’s sudden withdrawal from the first two Test matches against England, even if he knew about it. de Villiers revealed that at the current time, he also doesn’t know what personal reasons have forced Virat to opt out from the first two Tests. However, de Villiers stated that he wishes that everything is fine in Virat’s family and he will catch up with him very soon.

Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers have a deep bond of friendship and have spent a lot of time together while playing for the Royal Challengers Bangalore. Both the players share a brotherly bond off the field and have also given the example of the love in their relationship.

Speaking about the issue, AB de Villiers said on his YouTube channel, “No one knows what has happened yet. I am sure we will get to know soon. If Virat talks about personal reasons, there must be a very good reason for that. Maybe he is also tired. He has been playing a lot of cricket. Could be family stuff. I will find out soon but I won’t tell you guys. His friendship is too important to me.”

Virat Kohli’s commitment towards his team is not hidden from anyone. Kohli has been one of the greatest batsmen of the modern era and has achieved a lot of milestones during his cricketing career. Virat recently became the first batsman to smash 50 hundreds in ODI cricket during the ODI World Cup 2023 and went past Indian great Sachin Tendulkar.

On the other hand, Virat Kohli has been a player who has returned to the field a day after the demise of his father. Kohli’s sudden break from the field has shocked the cricketing fraternity. Kohli also missed out on the first T20I match against Afghanistan due to personal reasons.

There have been rumors going in the media, that Virat Kohli is set to become a father once again as his wife Anushka Sharma is pregnant. However, there is no official confirmation about the news from the couple.

From the standpoint of the World Test Championship 2023–25, the India vs. England Test series will be crucial for both nations. Red ball cricket has seen England play some outstanding cricket since Ben Stokes assumed leadership of the Test team. As captain, Stokes has never lost a Test series, and in December 2022, he completely destroyed Pakistan in that country.

However, during the past few years, India have also proved unbeatable in the red ball format. India will try to participate in one more World Test Championship final after having participated in the previous two. India has lost to Australia and New Zealand in the World Tennis Championship finals, and they have not won any titles. Winning the series will be the goal for both teams, as it would contribute crucial points to the WTC 2023–25 standings.
