WPL 2025: Watch - Priya Mishra shocks UP Warriorz, dismisses Grace Harris, Tahlia McGrath in same over

Gujarat Giants spinner Priya Mishra spun the web around the UP Warriorz batter in the ongoing game of the Women's Premier League (WPL) 2025. The third game of the tournament is taking place at the Kotambi Stadium in Vadodara on Sunday (16th February).

Priya Mishra, who came into the attack in the 9th over, tilted the game for the team in the second over that she bowled. The spinner broke the backbone of the UP Warriorz as she sent both Tahlia McGrath and Grace Harris in a single over to put her team at the top.

On the third ball of the over, Priya Mishra bowled a superb googly that pitched around the middle and slid inwards. The ball went past the inside edge and hit the knee flap first, and then off the bat and onto the pads. The umpire didn't take time to raise the finger as the batter had to take the long walk back in the hut for a two-ball duck.

If this was not enough, Priya Mishra then came up with the peach to send Grace Harris packing. The leg-spinner bowled a flighted delivery onto off, that was googly. The batter played it like a leg break as she went for a drive but got beaten on the inside edge as the ball crashed onto the stumps.

Priya Mishra ended her spell with three wickets as after removing Tahlia McGrath and Grace Harris, she removed Deepti Sharma. But the credit for that wicket goes to none other than skipper Ashleigh Gardner, who took a sensational catch to send the batter packing.

Priya Mishra bowled a loopy delivery outside off, that invited Deepti Sharma to play the big shot. She got closer for a slog and the ball spun away. It took the toe-end and Ashleigh Gardner from mid-off ran back and dived full length to her right to complete a superb catch.

The wicket she enjoyed the most) Deepti Sharma, because she is my friend - Priya Mishra

Priya Mishra, who returned with the figures of 3/25, talked about her performance, saying that it was her goal to take wickets for her team. She rated Deepti Sharma's wicket as the best. Speaking to broadcasters, she said:

"It’s feeling good, my goal was to take wickets for my team. I focused on doing the basics right. (On the advice to her from the team management) They suggested me to go for wickets as I’m a wicket-taking bowler.

"(The wicket she enjoyed the most) Deepti Sharma, because she is my friend. My height was short so my coach had told me to become a spinner earlier in my career. I thought if I had to hit the toes, why not become a legspinner."
