Indian wicketkeeper-batsman Wriddhiman Saha has shared screengrabs of some disturbing messages received by a journalist. This comes after Saha was dropped from the Indian Test squad against Sri Lanka which was announced by the Chairman of the National Selection Committee, Chetan Sharma, on Saturday.

It is notable that Wriddhiman Saha has been in the headlines for all the wrong reasons over the last couple of weeks. First up, there were reports in the media of him not playing in the Ranji Trophy this year due to a message received by the selectors that he will no longer be in the scheme of things for India in red-ball cricket. Later, he refused to play in the Ranji Trophy and said that CAB is involved in the controversy.

On Saturday, Chetan Sharma appeared before the media to announce the Indian T20I and Test squad for the Sri Lanka series. The squad announcement was followed by a press conference wherein, there were questions on the axing of some senior players including Ajinkya Rahane, Cheteshwar Pujara, Wriddhiman Saha, and Ishant Sharma.

In Saha’s context, Chetan Sharma clearly said that he won’t be revealing the grounds on which Sah was axed from the team as it is an internal matter of the selection committee and the team management. However, he maintained that all the four players were asked to skip the two-Test series against Sri Lanka and play in the Ranji Trophy as doors for selection in the Indian team will always be open for everyone but domestic cricket will be a massive criterion.

Now, Wriddhiman Saha has come up with certain screengrabs of a journalist threatening him for an interview after the recent fiasco.

Saha took to Twitter and wrote, “After all of my contributions to Indian cricket..this is what I face from a so called “Respected” journalist! This is where the journalism has gone.”

In the screengrabs shared by Saha, it can be clearly seen that an unnamed journalist is threatening Saha for an interview. India will take on Sri Lanka in a three-match T20I series and a two-match Test series. The tour will commence on February 24 with the Test series slated to begin from March 04. Rohit Sharma has been named India’s new Test captain and he will now usurp the throne of India’s all-format captain.

Rishabh Pant has been named the first-choice wicketkeeper for the Tests while Srikar Bharat has been named as the backup wicketkeeper for the Test series against Sri Lanka.
