Indian left-handed batsman Yashasvi Jaiswal has struggled after his inclusion in the ODI team. After being dismissed by a left-arm seamer in the first game in Ranchi, and then was dismissed similarly in the second match as well.
South Africa advance to Raipur as Temba Bavuma is back to lead the South African side, with Ryan Rickelton rested from this game. Quinton de Kock will be seen opening the innings alongside Aiden Markram, while India goes unchanged.
Yashasvi Jaiswal continues his flop show for India
India considered replacing Shubman Gill with Yashasvi Jaiswal as the former captain suffered from a neck spasm that ruled him out of competitive cricket. His return has been thrown under further doubt, as the likes of Yashasvi Jaiswal might also be drafted into the squad.
The batter has also been placed in the ODI team after he showed some convincing form in the IPL as well as the Test format for India. Despite the chances, Jaiswal could manage only 17 runs in the first game and followed up with 22 in the second.
Jasiwal continued his poor form against left-arm pacers, as Nandre Burger dismissed him in the first match, and now Marco Jansen has also dismissed him in the second game. Even in the Test series, Jansen had got the better of Jaiswal.
Virat Kohli and Ruturaj Gaikwad's third-wicket partnership
The Indian national cricket team struggled with their opening pair for the second match at Raipur. The track seemed very green, and it has been working well for the Proteas, with the two openers dismissed.
Virat Kohli, the centurion from the previous game, came to help the Indians through the crisis as he built on a partnership alongside Ruturaj Gaikwad in the middle order. Gaikwad has replaced Shreyas Iyer in the middle order, as he scored a half-century after a disgusting show in Ranchi.
India went past 150 with both Virat and Gaikwad hitting a half-century. The Proteas tried every bowler from their deck, and only Marco Jansen and Nandre Burger struck once. India is halfway through, as they cite a 300+ target for India.
