Yasir Shah Adjudged Innocent In Minor Girl Rape Case; Police Removes His Name From FIR

Pakistani spinner Yasir Shah has been adjudged innocent and absolved of all charges filed against him by a minor girl in Islamabad Police Station, who registered a First Information Report (FIR) in which he was accused of assisting in rape and threatening the complainant.
The FIR, which was filed at Islamabad’s Shalimar police station in December 2020 by the aunt of the victim, was registered against Shah and his friend named Farhan, under sections 292-B and 292-C (child pornography) and 376 (punishment for rape) of the Pakistan Penal Code.
The incident occurred in August 2020 as the complainant mentioned in the FIR that Farhan raped the minor girl at gunpoint, filmed the entire incident, and threatened to make the footage public, while it was also claimed that Yasir Shah aided and abetted the crime.
“When I approached Yasir on WhatsApp and told him about the incident, he made fun of me and said that he likes underage girls. Yasir Shah said that he was a very influential person and that he knew a high-ranking official […] Yasir Shah and Farhan make videos and rape underage girls,” the complainant had alleged in the FIR.
The FIR also alleged Yasir for threatening and intimidating the victim and her aunt if they tried to approach the police or any authorities against them.
Yasir Shah Has Nothing To Do With The Alleged Rape Case: Islamabad Police
Furthermore, the aunt of the victim also said that Yasir proposed buying a flat for the girl and taking care of her expenses for the next 18 years if she kept her mouth shut and didn’t go to the police.
However, now it has come to light that Yasir Shah’s name was erroneously added to the FIR and Islamabad police has confirmed that his name has been removed and he has been absolved of all charges.
“Yasir Shah has nothing to do with the alleged rape case,” police said.
Yasir Shah didn’t make any statements of any kind ever since the controversy emerged. On the other hand, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) had said they were “gathering information at its end and will only offer a comment when in possession of complete facts.”
