Team India's hopes of winning the ongoing Test series against England are hanging by a thread now. After the heartbreaking loss in the third Test, India now need to win both the remaining Tests to register a famous Test series win.

India suffered a 22-run defeat in the third Test at Lord's. After both teams scored 387 runs in the first innings, India's bowlers came up with a brilliant effort to bowl out England for 192 runs in the second innings. Set a target of 193 runs, India were all out for just 170 runs.

England takes an important lead in the series

The win saw England go 2-1 up in the series. England now need only one win or two draws to clinch the series, while India will have to win both games to win a Test series in England for the first time since 2007.

Ahead of the penultimate Test of the series, Jasprit Bumrah's workload management has become the talk of the town once again.

Jasprit Bumrah took a break in the 2nd Test

The Indian team management faced severe criticism after it rested Jasprit Bumrah for the second Test at Edgbaston.

After losing the first Test, India decided to rest Jasprit Bumrah even though there was a week's gap between the first two games. Fortunately for India, the decision did not backfire as they went on to win the game to draw level.

Jasprit Bumrah returned to action in the third Test and made an instant impact by taking 7 wickets, including 5 in the first innings.

No superstar player should take a break: Sunil Gavaskar

Speculations are rife that Bumrah could be rested for the fourth Test as well due to workload management. However, former India captain Sunil Gavaskar has warned Bumrah against missing the fourth Test.

According to reports, the pacer had told the management that he was available for only three of the five matches in the series.

In such a scenario, it would not be surprising if he is rested for the fourth Test so that he can play the fifth and final game.

However, Sunil Gavaskar has said that no superstar player should take a break during the series. Sunil Gavaskar also suggested that the players who did not get any chance in the first three Tests should play domestic cricket in England during the break.

"No superstar player should take a break. You have not come here for a holiday," Gavaskar said on Sony Sports.

"You should get some cricket. You are playing for India. You are not here for a cruise or something like that," he added.

The fourth Test is scheduled to be played from July 23 in Manchester. On the other hand, the fifth Test will be played from July 31 at the Oval in London.
