Yuvraj Singh in the mix as Ashish Nehra, Vikram Solanki set for exit in a big blow for Shubman Gill's Gujarat Titans

Gujarat Titans’ head coach Ashish Nehra and Director of Cricket Vikram Solanki are likely to part ways with the franchise ahead of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025. As per the reports in News 18, it is learned that the team is likely to undergo major changes.

The reports also claimed that Yuvraj Singh is in consideration to join the coaching set-up of Gujarat Titans but nothing has been made final as of yet. Gary Kirsten, who was the mentor of the team, also won't be part of the team as he has taken a full-time role with the Pakistan cricket team as head coach.

A source close to News 18 confirmed the development, saying that a lot of changes will be made to the coaching staff of Gujarat Titans. He revealed that discussions are already on with Yuvraj Singh related to the post. He explained:

"Lot of changes on the cards. Ashish Nehra and Vikram Solanki are highly likely to move on and discussions around Yuvraj Singh have already begun. Nothing is finalised right now but there could be some major changes in the coaching staff of the Gujarat Titans."

Ashish Nehra and Director of Cricket Vikram Solanki have been with the Gujarat Titans since the the time team came into existence in Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022. The duo in their three-year term were fantastic as in the inaugural edition they guided the team to win and then were runners-up in 2023 before finishing in the bottom half in the last edition.

The reports also claimed that Aashish Kapoor, Naeem Amin, Narender Negi and Mithun Manhas, who are part of the coaching setup of Gujarat Titans, are also exploring other teams. This means the franchise is all set to rope in fresh management for the next season.

Gujarat Titans had a horrible campaign in the IPL 2024. Under the leadership of Shubman Gill. They finished in eighth position. The move from Hardik Pandya to Mumbai Indians and the absence of Mohammed Shami due to an injury hurt their chances.

Yuvraj Singh was a sensational player for the India National Cricket Team and in the Indian Premier League. He hasn't had coaching experience but has helped a lot of young players Abhishek Sharma, Shubman Gill and others. He recently also expressed his desire to coach the team once his kids grow up.

Rahul Dravid set to become coach of Rajasthan Royals

Rahul Dravid, who was part of the India National Cricket Team as head coach till the T20 World Cup 2024, is all set to take the coaching role in the Indian Premier League from the next edition. The former India head coach is all set to become the head coach of the Rajasthan Royals in the 2025 edition.

Rahul Dravid served as the mentor of the Rajasthan Royals in 2014 and 2015. He also played for the franchise and till the T20 World Cup was associated with the Indian team. He was the coach of the India U19 and A sides before taking over the responsibility of the National Cricket Academy.
